Careless driving charge laid in crash involving pedestrian

A 19-year-old has been charged in connection with a crash that sent a pedestrian to hospital in Thames Centre.

The pedestrian was walking along Nissouri Road just after 9:30 p.m. on May 16 when they were hit by a passing vehicle, Middlesex OPP said. The pedestrian was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the vehicle was not hurt.

Following a week-long investigation by OPP, charges were announced against a 19-year-old from Thorndale on Tuesday.

The teen, whose name was not released, is charged with one count each of careless driving and failure to report an accident.
