St. Thomas Police Headquarters closed to the public

The Colin McGregor Building, which houses the St. Thomas Police Headquarters, will be closed to the public due to the rise in COVID-19 cases.

The St. Thomas Police Service (STPS) announced that the measure will take effect Sunday, December 19, and will stay in place until further notice.

"At STPS, COVID-19 safety measures are not taken lightly and they are intended to minimize community transmission of the virus, while providing an added layer of protection for our members," read a release.

Emergency services are still in place.

Limited services including fingerprinting and property pick up are available by appointment only.

The move to close headquarters to the public follows the one made by London police earlier in the week.
