Emergency crews were called to a ginseng field on Concession 13 in Townsend around 2:33 p.m.
A person was working in the field when a piece of equipment from a trailer hit them causing serious life-threatening injuries, said Norfolk OPP. The unidentified individual died at the scene.
The Ministry of Labour has been contacted and is investigating the incident.
