Teen dies from injuries following vicious assault

A 21-year-old man has been charged after a violent assault turned fatal in London.

The London Police Service said officers responded to the area of Western Road and Sarnia Road at around 2 a.m. on Saturday following a 911 call regarding the assault.

Officers located an 18-year-old man who had suffered serious injuries who was then rushed to hospital in critical condition. The victim, who has been identified as Gabriel Neil of Simcoe, succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

As a result of an investigation, police have arrested and charged 21-year old Aliyan Ahmed of London with one count of manslaughter.

Police said an investigation is ongoing.
