Woodstock police seize replica firearms, weapons during search

Woodstock police say two men face charges following a weapons investigation at a residence on East Park Drive.

Officers with the Drugs and Intelligence Unit along with the Waterloo Regional Police Service Tactical Team executed a warrant at the home just before noon on Wednesday.

During the search, police say they seized four prohibited weapons, 11 replica firearms, one handgun, two shotguns, five rifles, over 1,000 rounds of ammunition and approximately $2,500 worth of suspected Fentanyl.

As a result, a 40-year-old Woodstock man has been charged with three counts of careless storage of a firearm, two counts of unauthorized possession of a weapon and possession of a schedule 1 substance for trafficking.

A 38-year-old man from Woodstock is charged with possession of a firearm contrary to a probation order, failure to comply with a probation order, nine counts of careless storage, unauthorized possession of a firearm, four counts of unauthorized possession of a weapon and possession of a schedule 1 substance for trafficking.

Both men were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
