Oxford County provincial police are investigating a pedestrian crash in Tillsonburg that claimed the life of an elderly person.
According to police, emergency crews were called to an area on Woodside Drive at around 4 p.m. Tuesday following a report of a person who was hit by a car.
The 81-year-old victim identified as Irene Holowachuk of Tillsonburg was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Technical Collision Investigation team, Forensic Identification Services and the Oxford OPP Crime Unit are investigating the crash under the direction of the Criminal Investigation Branch.
