St. Thomas police seek witnesses in fatal pedestrian crash

An elderly woman has died following a collision in St. Thomas on Monday afternoon.

Police were called to the intersection of First Avenue and Redan Street at around 3:40 p.m. after a 73-year-old woman was hit by a car.

The driver of the vehicle waited with the woman while emergency crews arrived.

The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance where she later succumbed to her injuries. The area was closed for several hours while police were on scene.

Investigators are searching for anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call police if they have not already done so.
