Additional drug, weapons charges laid against London man

A London man arrested earlier this week and charged with drug trafficking is now facing additional charges in relation to an investigation that started in mid-November.

A 39-year-old man from London was one of two people arrested on Wednesday after police seized nearly $100,000 dollars worth of drugs from a home on Singleton Avenue.

London police said on Friday that additional charges were laid against the 39-year-old in connection to a separate investigation. Officers were called to the 300-block of Burlington Crescent on November 19 after a jacket with a stolen firearm and a "quantity of drugs" was found.

Police seized $19,700 worth of fentanyl, $630 worth of cocaine, a loaded .45 calibre revolver, five rounds of .45 calibre ammunition, and a black jacket.

Officers said surveillance footage from a nearby convenience store showed that a male suspect allegedly pointed a gun at another person. Police were able to identify a suspect and link the seized property back to him.

The 39-year-old man is now charged with the following:

- Possess restricted or prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a license and registration certificate

- Occupy motor vehicle with firearm

- Possess loaded regulated firearm

- Careless storage of a firearm

- Pointing a firearm

- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking

- Possession of a Schedule I substance

London police said the charges are being laid by way of warrant of arrest.
