Police warn of potentialy deadly fentanyl

Strathroy-Caradoc police are warning the public of a potentially deadly batch of fentanyl being distributed across the region after four people overdosed in just a 24-hour span.

Police issued the warning late Thursday afternoon.

In the previous 24-hours, police said three overdose victims were saved by Naloxone, an opioid antidote. However, police said one overdose victim died at a hospital after Naloxone and other life-saving measures were unsuccessful.

Strathroy-Caradoc police and the regional coroner’s office are investigating the circumstances of the person’s death.

It's believed that all four people used the same batch of fentanyl.
