Support worker accused of assaulting elderly patient

A personal support worker (PSW) is facing charges after an elderly woman was assaulted at a north London home.

The family of the victim, a woman in her 80s, found injuries on her late in the day on September 9, just hours after a woman employed as a PSW had been to the house. The injuries were described as minor.

The following day, the family called London police to report the alleged assault.

Police launched an investigation that saw a 38-year-old woman arrested. She is charged with one count of assault and will appear in court on December 8.

Anyone with information or who may have experienced a similar incident is asked to call police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
