Fatal crash victim identified

Provincial police in Oxford County have released the name of a man who was killed in a single-vehicle collision in Zorra Township.

Greg Coordes, 24, died after his vehicle crashed on the 31st Line between Road 66 and Highway 2  around 6:50 p.m. on August 17. Police said he was pronounced dead at the scene.

"August 17, 2020, Greg Coordes left in the evening with his buddy to take his prized car for a ride," his obituary said. "Tim Hortons tea in his cupholder and a smile on his face, he took his final ride. His infectious smile, quick wit and love of all things Honda will forever be remembered."

His tragic death came nearly five years after his mother, Kimberly Coordes, died when a wheel that came loose from a transport truck hit her vehicle on Highway 401 near Putnam Road.

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help the Coordes family.
