A 16-year-old London boy is accused of breaking into an apartment building, threatening several people, and spitting on police officers.
The incident began when a teen was spotted trying to break the glass door inside the front vestibule of an apartment building on Ridout Street near Queens Avenue around 2:15 a.m. on Wednesday. A man approached the teen and was threatened.
After breaking the door, the teen walked into the building and tried, unsuccessfully, to get inside one of the units.
Police arrived and while officers were making an arrest more threats were made.
Once in the back of the police cruiser, the teen suffered minor injuries when he tried to break the rear window. Paramedics were then called to take the teen to the hospital. En route, the teen threatened the paramedics and a police officer. The officer was also spit on. More attempts to spit on officers were made once at the hospital, police said.
A 16-year-old, who cannot be named due to his age, is charged with break and enter with intent, uttering threats, and assaulting police.
