Murder charge laid after man found dead on Oneida Nation of the Thames

One man has been charged with first degree murder after another man was found dead on Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation.

The Ontario Provincial Police said on Monday at around 8:30 p.m., the victim's body was discovered at a Clara Road property on the First Nation reserve.

As a result, 43-year-old Harlo Cornelius of the Oneida Nation was arrested and is now charged with first degree murder. Cornelius is being held in custody pending a future court date.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

An investigation into the death remains ongoing and members of the public can expect to see an increased police presence in the area as they conduct an investigation.
