According to police, around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, emergency crews were called to Quaker Road near Roberts Line in Central Elgin.
"The lone operator of the vehicle, a 36 year old from Central Elgin, appears to have lost control of ATV and was thrown from the vehicle," police said in a news release issued Tuesday.
The driver was rushed to hospital and is listed in critical condition.
