15-year-old charged with impaired after vehicle hits house

Impaired driving charges have been laid against a 15-year-old after a vehicle slammed into a house in St. Thomas.

The vehicle crashed into the front porch and garage of the home around 2 a.m. on Tuesday. No one was hurt, but officers who arrived on scene noted the 15-year-old driver showed signs of impairment, St. Thomas police said.

The teen, who cannot be named due to his age, was arrested and taken to police headquarters where testing allegedly indicated he was impaired by drugs.

He is charged with operating a vehicle while impaired by drugs, driving a vehicle with no licence, possession of drugs, and breach of release conditions.
