A man is dead after being hit by a vehicle in south London early Monday morning.
The man was walking in the area of Wharncliffe Road South near Wonderland Road around 2:20 a.m. when he was struck. He was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. He died a short time later, police said.
The man's name and age have not been released.
Wharncliffe Road between Bradley Avenue and Wonderland Road was closed for roughly five hours while the police traffic management unit probed the cause of the collision. The roadway was reopened around 7:45 a.m.
