A family in St. Thomas is in need of a new set of wheels after fire tore through their carport, destroying a sedan parked underneath.
St. Thomas firefighters received several 911 calls about a house fire at 29 Pol Crt. just before 7:20 p.m. on Sunday. When fire crews arrived they found a carport attached to the home engulfed in flames. A vehicle was destroyed and the side of the home was slightly scorched.
The occupants of the home made it out without injury.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
A damage estimate has not yet been released.
