Father charged in three-month-old baby's death

A London father has been charged with manslaughter nearly a year after the death of his three-month-old baby.

Emergency crews rushed to a home on Boullee Street around 10 a.m. on March 16 of last year after getting a 911 call about an infant in need of medical attention. The baby was taken to hospital, but died three days later.

The baby's death prompted an 11-month investigation by the police major crime section, the office of the chief coroner, and Ontario forensic pathology service.

On Monday, the infant's 25-year-old father was arrested and charged with manslaughter. His name is not being released to protect the identity of the child.

The man is scheduled to appear in London court in relation to the charge on April 7.
