Body of missing man found

Provincial police in Oxford County say a body found near Ingersoll is that of a man who had been reported missing earlier this month.

Oxford OPP say the body of Thomas Rutherford, 31, was found on Foldens Line around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday. Rutherford had been reported missing on December 8.

"All investigative leads are being followed up by the Oxford County OPP Major Crime Unit and OPP West Region Criminal Operations, under the direction of Detective Inspector Brad Robson of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB)," police said in a news release issued Friday evening. "The investigation is ongoing and further information will be provided as it becomes available."
