Man arrested following weapon investigation

A police investigation is ongoing after a report of a man with a weapon shut down an area of London's end.

The London Police Service closed Second Street between Oxford and Dale streets, and Mardell between Second and Jim Ashton streets shortly before 4 p.m. on Friday after officers contained the area.

After around two hours, police said a London man who was believed to be in possession of a weapon was taken into custody without incident.

It is unknown if any charges will be laid or if a weapon was recovered.

The area has since been reopened to the public but an investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent in online anonymously to www.londoncrimestoppers.com.
