Man wanted for inappropriate touching of girl turns himself in

An Edmonton man, who was wanted for allegedly inappropriately touching a 12-year-old girl in London, has turned himself in.

Moses Wal, 49, turned himself in to the Edmonton Police Service earlier this week. He has since been returned to London and is now charged with sexual assault, sexual interference with a person under 16 and invitation to sexual touching to a person under 16.

Police issued a Canada-wide warrant for Wal last week in connection with an incident that occurred on July 3 near Sherwood Forest Mall on Wonderland Road North. A 12-year-old girl was near the mall when she was approached by a man who began talking and walking with her short distance before he inappropriately touched her.

The girl ran home and the police were contacted. She was not physically injured.

Wal remained in police custody in London on Wednesday with a scheduled court appearance the same day.
