Arson charges have been laid against four people in connection with two unrelated weekend fires in London.
The first blaze destroyed a school bus in the parking lot of A.B. Lucas Secondary School on Tennent Avenue at around 3:20 a.m. Sunday. No one was hurt, but damage was set at $60,000.
A day after appealing to the public for tips, London police said Wednesday an 18-year-old London man has been charged with arson causing property damage.
The second fire began in a vehicle in the driveway of a home on Delaware Street, near Horace Street around 4 a.m. on Sunday. That fire spread to two nearby properties, forcing residents out of their homes. No injuries were reported in that incident.
Damage was set at approximately $160,000 and the fire was quickly deemed suspicious.
An 18-year-old Port Franks woman, a 26-year-old man, and a 23-year-old man, both from London, have been arrested in relation to the blaze. They are now charged with arson with disregard for human life and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.
