Man charged in April pharmacy robberies

A 57-year-old London man is facing charges in connection with a pair of armed robberies at pharmacies in the city two months ago.

London police began investigating after a man armed with a knife walked into the pharmacy at 240 Wharncliffe Rd. N and demanded narcotics around 2 p.m. on April 5. The man took off with an undisclosed quantity of medication.

A little over a week later, a man with a knife went into the drug store at 813 Richmond St. and demanded narcotics from the pharmacists around 4 p.m. on April 16. Again, the man took off with a quantity of medication.

No one was injured during either robbery. While searching the area following the second robbery, police found items they believe were left behind by the suspect.

Steven Connors, 57, of London is charged with armed robbery and wearing a disguise with intent. He is scheduled to appear in London court in relation to the charges on Friday.
