Collision causes power outage and road closure in south London

A single-vehicle collision on Wellington Road at Frank Place has caused a power outage in the city and closed a major artery for Wednesday morning's rush hour.

The vehicle hit a hydro pole, knocking out power to a large part of Old South London.

No injuries are reported.

London Hydro is working on restoring that power as quickly as possible with an estimated restoration time of 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Wellington Road is closed in both directions from Grand Avenue to Emery Street into mid-morning.

London police are reminding drivers to treat intersections where lights are out as a four-way stop.
