UPDATE: Pedestrian dies after being struck by vehicle

Police are confirming that a 28-year-old man has died after being struck by a vehicle in northeast London.

It happened on Friday night, a few minutes before midnight, at the intersection of Huron Street and Adelaide Street North.

According to police, a pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle and then taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries where he eventually passed away.

The pedestrian has been identified as Michael Laviolette of London. Police add that  Laviolette's organs were able to be donated.

The traffic management unit is still investigating the incident. Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information is asked to call London police at 519-661-5670.
