Lightning hold back the Riptide 109-95

The London Lightning are now 3-1 this season after beating the Saint John Riptide 109-95 on Thursday.

The two teams were neck and neck in the first quarter and entered the second with the game tied at 21-21. The two teams were neck and neck in the first quarter and entered the second with the game tied at 21-21. London was able to pull ahead for a 49-39 lead as the game entered halftime.

The Lightning continued to surge ahead of Saint John in the third by holding a 13-point lead by the end of the frame. The Riptide weren't able to gain any ground on London in the fourth, and the Lightning were able to end the game with a 14-point advantage.

Xavier Moonled the Lightning with 25 points and five rebounds, while Marvell Waithe had 19 points and two rebounds. Kevin Ware Jr. also put up 13 points.

The Lightning are in PEI on Saturday to take on the Island Storm at 6 p.m.
