Knights knock Kingston 4-1

A strong start by the London Knights propelled them to a 4-1 win over the Frontenacs in Kingston Saturday night.

London is now in a tie for first place in the OHL Midwest Division with Guelph, for 16 points.

The Knights scored both their first-period goals before its halfway point. Gerard Keane's goal at 9:28 was his first of the season. This was followed 29 seconds later by Cole Tymkin's score.

Ian Derungs's goal at 9:09 in the middle segment put the Frontenacs on the board, but London responded with another pair of goals. William Lochead put the Knights up by two once again, then Alec Regula followed suit with his first goal of the year for a 4-1 London lead.

There was no scoring in the last period, but Kingston outshot London 11-10.

Jordan Kooy stopped all but one of the 25 shots he faced in the Knights goal. Ryan Dugas notched 33 saves in net for the Frontenacs.

London is back in action Friday night, when the Flint Firebirds come to Budweiser Gardens.
