Pedestrian dies after crash on Huron Street

London police are investigating a fatal crash that took place on in the city's northeast end Sunday night.

According to police, a man was crossing Huron Street just east of Sorrel Road when he was hit by a vehicle in the eastbound lanes. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as 89-year-old Joseph Vernille.

The investigation has been taken over by the police department's Traffic Management Unit.
