Dr. Oetker Adding 100 Jobs

A pizza-making factory in London plans to add just over 100 new workers as it adds another production line.

Production at Dr. Oetker will increase from 11,000 pizzas per hour to 18,000 when the new line is completed. The expansion is being aided by a $7-million grant from Ontario taxpayers. The money is coming from the Jobs and Prosperity Fund.

"Dr. Oetker has been committed to Canada since 1960. Receiving this support from the province will strengthen our capacity to further innovate, and drive exports. It will also translate into the ability to continue to serve our Canadian customers and consumers with premium quality products in a sustainable and competitive manner," said Cécile Van Zandijcke, the executive vice president of Dr. Oetker Canada Ltd.

The provincial grant is also expected to secure the 115 jobs that already exist at the plant.
