Ethnic Slur Scratched Into Vehicle

An incident of vandalism involving a vehicle in Exeter last month is being investigated as a possible hate crime.

Huron OPP was called to a home on Orchard St. on March 31 after the resident discovered someone had used a sharp object to gouge deep scratches into a vehicle parked in the driveway.

An unspecified ethnic slur was carved into all four sides of the vehicle. There were also deep scratches and swirls on nearly every panel.

Police believe the damage was done sometime between 12:30am and 8am on March 31. They are treating the incident as a hate or bias-motivated crime.
