UPDATE: Body Recovered Off Port Stanley

Elgin County OPP say they have found the body of a man who went missing in Lake Erie.

OPP say the man went missing off the main pier in Port Stanley shortly before 6pm Friday.

Police say the man was last seen in the water approximately 30m east of the lighthouse.

OPP, Central Elgin Fire, and the Coast Guard searched for the man until 11pm Friday, but resumed the search Saturday. The body was discovered just after 6pm.

The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit, as well as the Elgin OPP Crime Unit also assisted in the search.

The man has not been identified pending notification of loved ones. Foul play is not suspected.
