A round trip across the Blue Water Bridge, in Canadian funds, will cost a quarter less effective April 1.
The Michigan Department of Transportation says passenger vehicles entering Ontario will pay $0.25 less at $3.75.
The Ottawa-based Federal Bridge Corporation says the rate heading into the U.S. remains unchanged at $4 Canadian but will increase in American funds by a quarter to $3.25. Canada-bound cars paying the toll on the Michigan side in U.S. funds will pay $3.
Spokesman Andre Girard says the prices are reviewed semi-annually based on the average daily currency exchange rate, as published by the Bank of Canada, for the previous six-month period.
He says things like traffic levels, economic forecasts and funding needs for long-term capital requirements are also considered.
Extra axle rates will remain at $4 Canadian, but will rise from $3 U.S to $3.25 U.S. per trip.
Commercial per axle rate will continue to be at $4.25 Canadian, but will be adjusted from $3.25 U.S. to $3.50 U.S. per trip.
Changes take effect on April 1 and October 1 each year.
