It took double-overtime for the London Lightning to hold off the Moncton Magic.
The Lightning needed both overtime periods to fight off a challenge by the Magic and pull out a 147-146 win Saturday night at Budweiser Gardens.
London improves to 12-5 on the season and is in first place in the NBL Central Division standings.
Royce White dominated the individual scoring for the Lightning with 46 points, and got 14 rebounds for a double-double. Ryan Anderson added 27 points and 11 rebounds while Garrett Williamson put up 24 points.
Mo Bolden led London in defence with 16 rebounds, ten of them defensive, and contributed 17 points.
Terry Thomas led Moncton with 31 points. Jason Calliste sank 26 additional points off the bench and Tirrell Baines added 21. Baines also led in boards with 14.
London began the game strong, leading the Magic by 11 points after one quarter, then holding a 68-61 lead at halftime. Moncton climbed back into the contest in the second half and went toe-to-toe with London to tie the game at 138-138 after regulation. Each team scored 12 points in the first overtime period, but it was Bolden who sealed it for London, getting two clutch free throws in the second overtime to seal it for the Lightning.
The Lightning host the St. John's Edge Wednesday night.
