Sam Miletic scored twice, but the London Knights could not close the deal in North Bay.
The Battalion scored three unanswered goals and held the lead in their 6-3 win over the Knights Sunday afternoon at North Bay Memorial Gardens.
London stands pat at 47 points and second place in the OHL Midwest Division.
It was the first game for the Knights since a trade earlier Sunday sent Max Jones to Kingston in exchange for left winger Sergey Popov, who fired five shots of the net in his first game wearing a London uniform.
Luke Burghardt put the Battalion on the board first at 10:48 in the first period, and the score remained 1-0 North Bay after the first 20 minutes. Burghardt struck again at 4:54 in the second period to double the Battalion lead, then Justin Brazeau made it 3-0 with his 26th goal of the year.
The Knights got on the board when Nathan Dunkley found the net at 9:04, but Kyle Potts got that goal back for North Bay 48 seconds later. Miletic scored his first goal of the game on the power play before the second intermission, trimming the Battalion lead to 4-2.
Brazeau and Miletic each got their second goals of the game in the third period, but Jesse Saban sealed the win for North Bay late in the frame on an empty-net goal.
Christian Propp had 28 saves in goal for the Battalion. Jordan Kooy was in net for the Knights with 26 saves.
The Knights host the Kitchener Rangers Thursday night.
