Roads, sidewalks, and parking lots could be transformed into skating rinks as a system packing freezing rain makes its way into the London area.
Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for London-Middlesex, Elgin County, and Oxford County. Freezing rain is expected to begin falling across the region Monday afternoon and continue overnight before changing to rain Tuesday morning.
Motorists are advised to slow down, watch for taillights ahead, and maintain a safe following distance as surfaces will become icy and slippery.
Temperatures are expected to rise to plus 4 C Tuesday and remain above seasonal for the rest of the week.
