A Brampton man, charged with murder in the death of his wife in a Hwy. 402 truck fire, has been denied bail.

Sukhchain Singh Brar, 51, will remain in custody following a ruling by Superior Court Justice John Desotti in Sarnia Friday morning.

The body of 37-year-old Gurpreet K. Brar, also of Brampton, was found in a Freightliner cab destroyed by fire in the westbound lanes of Hwy. 402 at the Camlachie Rd. overpass, in the early morning hours of January 31, 2016.

The accused was arrested and charged with first degree murder four days later and has been in custody since.
