Multi-Vehicle Crash On Hwy. 401 Injures Two

Provincial police say a total of seven vehicles were involved in a multi-vehicle crash that shutdown a section of Hwy. 401 in the Woodstock-area on Sunday.

The chain reaction crash began when two vehicles collided in the eastbound lanes near Sweaburg Rd. around 6:30pm. The initial collision caused four more vehicles to collide. Six cars and a minivan were involved and all of them had to be towed off the highway.

Oxford OPP say two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The eastbound lanes of the highway were closed for nearly three hours.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
