Boler Mountain Breaks Ground On $6.1M Chalet

Officials at Boler Mountain say a new, $6.1-million chalet will "bring a new level of guest services for enthusiasts of outdoor activities."

Ground was broken Friday on the new 16,000 sq ft facility.

“As we grew into a year-round centre, there was increasing demand from the community for a better chalet facility,” said Gary Curtis, president of the volunteer Board of Directors at Boler Mountain. “The new chalet will allow Boler Mountain to provide our guests with a spectacular view of the ski hill from a comfortable and accessible facility. The state of the art kitchen and dining facilities will also enable Boler to host weddings and corporate events in conjunction with our current slate of outdoor adventure activities.”

Among the new chalet's features will be event space that can accommodate up to 200 people, space for people to relax by a fireplace, and an elevator.

The new chalet was designed by London architect firm, Tillman Ruth Robinson, and California based chalet specialists BSA.

Financing came from Libro and the chalet will be built by Agri-Urban Buildings Inc. of Chatham. It is expected to be ready in time for the 2017-2018 skiing and snowboarding season.
