Councillor Maureen Cassidy is paying back the city for the cost of a conference she didn't go to.
The Ward 5 councillor, who is still on a self-imposed leave from council, was supposed to go to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities conference last month. But after admitting to an affair with Mayor Matt Brown and stepping away from her council duties, she did not attend the conference.
The London Free Press reports Cassidy delivered a cheque to city hall on Wednesday to cover the roughly $1,000 in costs associated with the conference.
The costs were recently revealed when council expense reports were made public.
There is still no indication as to when Cassidy will return to her council seat. She is forgoing her council pay during her leave of absence.
