UPDATE: Trucker Injured In Middlesex Crash

An early morning collision has sent a transport truck driver to hospital with serious injuries.

Middlesex OPP say just before 6:30am on Thursday, officers responded to a two vehicle collision on Elginfield Rd. at Denfield Rd. in Middlesex Centre.

A grey Dodge van was travelling north on Denfield Rd. when it entered the intersection and collided with a transport trailer travelling westbound on Elginfield Rd. The force of the collision caused the transport to enter the ditch.

The driver of the transport was taken to hospital by ambulance with injuries police say may be life threatening. The driver of the van was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.

Elginfield Rd. was closed between Vanneck Rd. and Coursey Line following the crash.  Denfield Rd. was also closed between 16 Mile Rd. and Airport Rd.   All roads have since been reopened.

This investigation is ongoing.
