OPP: Speed, Alcohol Factors In Fatal Crash

Provincial police in Norfolk County say speed, alcohol, and a lack of seatbelt use are being considered as factors in a crash that claimed the life of a 26-year-old woman.

Emergency crews were called a single-vehicle crash on Windham Rd. 9 near Windham Centre just before 10pm Thursday. A red pickup truck was heading west on Windham Rd. 9 at Windham East Quarter Line Rd. when the driver lost control and rolled the truck in a field.

A 20-year-old male passenger was thrown from the truck and suffered minor injuries.

The driver, 26-year-old Theresa Diane Lausch of Norfolk County, was partially ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are still investigating.
