A St. Thomas secondary school teacher is facing sex related charges after police say a minor was inappropriately touched over the holidays.
Elgin OPP say a student under the age of 18 made the allegations of inappropriate touching of a sexual nature following an incident at a home in Central Elgin on December 29.
Police arrested 53-year-old Roger Reid, a teacher at Arthur Voaden Secondary School, Wednesday.
Reid is charged with sexual exploitation and sexual assault.
He will appear in St. Thomas court January 26. The Thames Valley District School Board says Reid has been suspended with pay pending the outcome of the legal proceedings.
