London's unemployment rate continues to rise as statistics show an unemployment rate of 7.3% in September, compared to 6.6% the previous month. However, Statistics Canada says overall the country added 12,000 jobs last month. That did not stop the national unemployment rate from rising to 7.1%, up from 7% the month before. The new jobs are said to be mostly part-time, with a drop in available full-time work. On a provincial level, Ontario saw a loss of 34,000 jobs in September.
