Driver Three Times Over Limit With Child In Backseat

A St. Thomas man is facing charges after police say he was driving drunk with an 11-year-old passenger in the back seat.

Around 9pm on Sunday night police were called to a north end home for an unrelated matter when a car pulled into the lane way. The driver got out and started talking to an officer, who suspected him of drinking alcohol.

The driver failed a roadside screening test and was taken to police headquarters, where he failed further testing. Police say the man was nearly three times over the legal limit.

The unnamed man was charged and released with a future court date.
