NHL's O'Reilly Has Impaired Driving Case Put Over

The NHL's Ryan O'Reilly has had his impaired driving case put over until next month.

A lawyer made a brief appearance on his behalf today. His next court date is scheduled for September 10.

The 24-year-old faces impaired driving charges in connection to a single-vehicle crash in Lucan on July 9.

Police say a green Chevrolet pickup truck hit a Tim Hortons on Richmond St. around 4am, the driver then left the scene. The truck was spotted a short time later on Main St. and officers say the driver had been drinking alcohol.

O'Reilly was arrested at the scene and taken to OPP headquarters for breath testing. He was then charged with impaired driving and failing to remain at the scene.

The Buffalo Sabres star is originally from the Clinton area.
