Hospitals in London, St. Thomas, and Strathroy are among those getting renewed infrastructure funding from the Ontario government.
The province announced Wednesday that funding from the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund will be going to the London Health Sciences Centre, St. Joseph's Health Care, St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, and Strathroy-Middlesex General Hospital.
The money will be used for infrastructure requirements like roof replacements, new windows, fire alarms, back-up generators, and upgraded heating and cooling systems.
“Just as you invest in the maintenance and upkeep of your own home, investment in hospital infrastructure is key to ensuring that hospitals maintain their buildings and equipment to meet the demands of modern health care delivery," says Michael Barrett, CEO of the South West Local Health Integration Network. "We believe that these investments in hospitals across the South West LHIN will ensure people can continue to receive high quality care in facilities close to home.”
According to the province, the LHSC will get $7,725,431, St. Joseph's Health Care will get $3,981,610, St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital will recieve $2,242,669, and $2,005,097 will go to Strathroy-Middlesex General Hospital.
