Jet Aircraft Museum Welcomes WWII Flying Fortress

London's Jet Aircraft Museum will welcome a historic WWII Boeing B-17 this weekend.

The flying fortress is set to arrive on Saturday morning for Jet Blast Day at the Aviation Ln. site. It will be taking off and landing throughout the day, as some get a chance to take flight in the piece of history.

In addition to the Yankee Lady, the Jet Aircraft Museum will have its usual line-up of historic aircraft and boats on display. 

"We'll have all our aircraft here and we do have the two boats, the Guy Lombardo boat and the Supertest, and we'll have video of the two boats racing ... You can come tour the planes we've been working on and the stages that they're at," says Director of Marketing for the Jet Aircraft Museum Mike Kestle. "The one plane that we having flying right now that we're doing most of our flights in is actually a rare plane, it's a British aircraft and there's only five of them flying, so it's a unique experience."

Those at the Jet Aircraft Museum are working towards developing field trips and educational experiences for grade school children. Come September, the hope is to have grade six students tour the facilities as they learn about flight as part of the curriculum.

There are several flight simulators and educational activities for kids.

The site will also be open for Doors Open London come fall.
