New Case Of PED In Oxford County

Ontario Pork confirms another Oxford County farm is infected with the Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus.

The organization says the case was discovered on July 8 at a farrow-to-finish farm.

This is the second new case this month, the first being reported in Lambton County on July 2.

Since PED popped up in Ontario in January there have been a total of 14 cases reported in Oxford County, and several others within Elgin and Middlesex.

Officials say the virus usually slows when the warmer weather shows up.

The virus does not pose a risk to human health or food safety.
