One local environmental group is hoping to reduce the impact summer festivals have on the environment and landfills.
The Thames Region Ecological Association (TREA) will be at this year's Home County Music and Art Festival to encourage people to be environmentally friendly.
The festival takes place July 17-19 at Victoria Park and TREA will have ecostations set up for people to dispose of their waste properly.
"It's good to keep a nice, safe, clean environment for everyone to enjoy, and that's what we are promoting," says TREA President Anne Arnott.
She says their role is to minimize the amount of waste going to the landfill.
"As an environmental organization, we always stand behind reusing, reducing, and recycling whatever packages we come across."
The group will be there to educate the public on how to live a more sustainable lifestyle.
"We just ask people to handle their waste responsibly, use active transportation whenever possible, and to talk to other people about what they're doing to make the city more green and more inviting," says Arnott.
