Stratford Pedestrian Killed By Train Near Shakespeare

A 27-year-old man is dead after being hit by a train west of Shakespeare.

Perth County OPP says around 9:20pm last night, officers were dispatched to the rail line half-a-kilometre west of the village to reports of a pedestrian being hit by the train.

Emergency responders found a man's body and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

He has been identified as Robert William McArdle of Stratford.

The two car Via passenger train with 50 passengers on board continued on it's way shortly after midnight.
